Please note: last entry 45 minutes before the monument closes. 

Monument closure

Closed all day on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.

Temporary closure of the Sainte-Chapelle : The Sainte-Chapelle is temporarily closed every day during the lunch break between 12 noon and 2pm or 1pm and 2pm. We strongly recommend that you consult our opening times on the home page.

Free tickets can be obtained at the ticket office upon presentation of proof of identity.

   In view of safety requirements and visitor management issues, group visits are not permitted on Sundays in all areas of the keep and the Sainte-Chapelle.

Practical details
 

The Revelacio tablet is included in the admission ticket. 

A valid identity document (identity card, passport, driving licence, health insurance card, etc.) must be left with you for the duration of the visit.

Visitors can be equipped no later than 1h30 before the castle closes.

Available in 3 languages (French, English, Spanish).

Access and transport

During the vincennes estival club (from July 14 to August 3 inclusive), entry is via the tour du village (avenue de Paris) and exit via the tour des salves (cour des Maréchaux). Find out more

Starting August 11, entry and exit will be through the Tour des Salves (Cour des Maréchaux), a 3-minute walk from the metro. Additional signage will be installed outside to guide you.

By car

Visitors are not allowed to park their vehicles inside the château, with the exception of people with reduced mobility who hold a disability card.

Services and conditions of visit

  • Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Souvenir shop.
  • Toilets (accessible only with the monument ticket).
  • Dogs are not allowed in the monument, except for guide and assistance dogs.
  • Strollers are not allowed inside the monuments (they can be left outside).
  • Luggage permitted: 30 cm x 40 cm x 15 cm. As the monument is a military site, there are no luggage lockers.  
  • No eating and drinking inside the monuments.
  • Smoking is banned throughout the site, both inside and outside the monument. Pursuant to decree no. 2025-582 of 27 June 2025 on smoke-free areas, collective outdoor areas where children and teenagers may be present or exposed, in particular public parks and gardens, become smoke-free areas.
