Equipment and visiting tips

Preparing your visit 

  • Visitors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Pets: only guide dogs and assistance animals are allowed inside the monument.
  • The monument does not accept deposits. Entry with suitcases and large bags is not permitted under Vigipirate measures.
  • A baby changing table is available in the ticket office-shop toilets.
  • Rest areas with benches and chairs are available in the halls.

Using a pushchair or if you have reduced mobility

  • Pushchairs are allowed inside the castle, but not in the Sainte-Chapelle or the keep (they can be left outside). 
  • The château de Vincennes is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Before your visit, find out more about our facilities, offers and services adapted to different publics.

Where to eat? 

Picnics are not permitted inside the château. However, the streets of Vincennes abound with a wide variety of brasseries and restaurants.

Dress appropriately

The château de Vincennes is a site with outdoor areas that may be exposed to the wind (courtyard, Châtelet terrace) or unheated (Sainte-Chapelle).
