Presentation
How can the heart of the city, beating to the rhythm of the present, and its emblematic historic monument, rich in the past centuries, be made to resonate?
Armelle Antier's "Vincennes dessinée" exhibition highlights these resonances, with 25 pen and ink drawings done in the streets of Vincennes and eight works created in collaboration with other artists involved in the project: Delphine Huard, Mai Kasahara, Eva Largo and Marielle Sbaihi, Maurine Rolland, Gérôme Rivière, Mathieu Adam, Matthias Bourdelier and Anne-Cécile Grandjean .
From 21 March to 21 June 2024, ceramic drawings, photographs, paintings, sculptures, engravings, silk-screen prints and embroidery will be displayed against the stones of the Donjon.
This exhibition is part of the Printemps du Dessin programme.
About the artist
Armelle Antier, who graduated in 2020 with a degree in interior architecture from Arts Décoratifs de Paris (EnsAD), draws for her projects, her dissertation and her diploma. After graduating, drawing became her daily routine.
How is a living space designed through architecture? How do its occupants actually live there? Armelle's artistic work is built on exchanges with the residents and users of the places where she works. Her work reveals an interest in architecture and inhabited spaces, which she seeks to represent in a sensitive way. Urban spaces, buildings, monuments, interiors... So many witnesses to an era, a way of thinking, a way of living.
Armelle has had a studio at Openbach Vincennes since 2022. A few months after moving in, she's wandering the city, drawing it. To find out more
